Dining Table (2022)

In Chinese culture, a dining table is the foothold of life and the place of peace of mind for the whole family—the dining table is our definition of “home”. In my apartment, our dining table is the only brand-new piece of furniture that my roommate and I decided to buy. This dining space is an important part of our daily lives. We have enjoyed our meals here individually; we gather together as a family... There was a lot of laughter, thoughts, and traces of time at our dining table.

In my fourth year of studying abroad, I started to record our repetitive lives. Through the "eyes of a bystander", I observe every most ordinary moment, and document every scene around our dining table of "our home".
