Goodbye Maria (2022.08)

In my photographic journey, I have always been captivated by the power of film to mirror and interpret the complexities of real life. This fascination is at the heart of my work as a stills photographer, where I strive to capture moments that resonate with the depth and authenticity of human experiences.

Goodbye Maria, a feature film directed by my talented friend, Yiru Sun, presented a unique opportunity for me to explore this intersection of film and reality. The film narrates the tender story of a young boy and his babysitter, whose relationship evolves beyond mere companionship, embodying a profound emotional connection. My stills photography for this feature film aimed to echo this connection, reflecting the film's narrative in real-life experiences. These images are not just visual captures; they represent the universal themes of attachment, loss, and the poignant moments that shape our existence, inviting viewers to see their lives mirrored in these frames.
